The 20p unique dress

My eldest daughter often asks me why she cant have a matching dress to her younger sister. My eldest is 7 and the youngest is 15 months because she said she wants to look like twins (bless).I dont know any shops that stock dresses within that age range. So I had a bundle of material from abhakan for 60p you get loads! I thought id try with my youngest ones dress first to see how I get on.
I got one of her dresses and laid it flat on the material and cut round it with an inch or two extra to allow for seam allowance. Then I did the same with the second piece.I pinned a cm of material inwards then sewed on my machine on both pieces.I cut a slit half way down the back piece then stitched that to allow for a zip or buttons.I pinned the fabribs together, pretty side together and stitched again then turned the dress inside out and ta daaaaa!! I then added a lace collar,I got a bunch of these in a bag also from abhakan for 60p!! So this dress has cost me maximum 20p to make probably not even that,Time to get practicing I will save a small fortune
the pieces cut out in the material
the seams done then the pieces stitched together
the slit I made to allow for buttons or zip
                                                    finished piece
What do you think fellow bloggers?
Time to make my eldest her dress today x
