my gorgeous hubby
                                        me before my diet

me a few months later after a lot of hard work, but I still bake
                                      my cake and eat it

prettyfying my boring notice board

I bought this boring notice board from home bargains for £1.99 although in hindsight they probably have these in pound shops.Anywho I have a large bundle of different material taking over my kitchen cupboard, If you go to abhakan textiles they have large bundles of material for 60p each and you get a fair amount of material for that price.I measured out my notice board and divided that by 1/4 so each square was the same size,I added a extra inch around each of the sides to compensate for covering the full board an slightly on the back.I got out my sewing machine and sewed the edges together, being sure to turn in the material by a cm or so,so that the stiching is at the back of the material and you wont see it when completed.I had a old pillow what i use for various crafts,I pulled out some stuffing so it created a slightly padded effect.I glued the back three edges of my board using my glue gun (now I have my staple gun its much easier) and stuck it down.I stuffed it and then stuck down the last edge so the stuffing dont fall out.And there we have it,I hope you understood my mumble jumble ladies :-p. you could either criss cross elastic over the front to pop pictures or letters inside or you could simply leave it to just pin things to.

decorating on a budget

Items round a house can certainly make it homely but it is nice to add your own stamp on the place.
The landing was looking a bit bare but how expensive is it for wallpaper these days??!!
On a recent trip to B&M bargains in bolton I thought id browse at wallpaper in there,to my amazememnt I found this lovely floral wallapaper for a £1 a roll in the sale section, now its up it looks lovely.I also have lots of miss matched frames that I have been collecting which is going to be filled with family photos to create a quirky feature wall.

When we first moved in I wanted something different and unique for zoe janes room.So instead of buying wallpaper I bought a pack of acrylic paints for a few quid and began drawing on her wall. Now I am not a artist by any stretch the imagination but I know how much love, effort and time I put into it plus its theraputic.I also know this is a one off so she finally got her unique wall, although uncompleted yet ;)
I am still trying to work out the style of my eldest, shes at the age (7) where she changes her mind so quickly, plus she is very grown up for her age.
Hope you all like :) x

my favourite things in power tower

Much to my fiances dismay I love vintage and retro things and dream of living in a cosy farm house or a victorian semi.Unfortunatly for me he loves new things with no character! So until I get my dream home I am slowly but surely filling the house with things I love! He is slowly coming around as he knows I am very passionate about it and pre loved things need'nt cost the earth, and every man loves it when a woman is spending less.On the downside for him it means early rises for boot sales, vintage fairs and charity shops.God forbid if he ever seen one of his bodybuilding pals walking into one of these places.Men from bolton tend to be 'macho'. lager drinking, football watchers and fifa lovers! although my fiance has a love of football he is very sensitive such as crying at women giving birth on one born every minute, singing the fairy liquid theme tune while doing the dishes for me amongst many other things...Sssshhh dont tell mr power I spilled on his well kept secrets. Anywho more about the goings on about the scrimpaholic family soon
