This post should explain where I have been

Hello my lovelys,Before I begin I am not going to hold back on this post so if you are a very reserved person then look away now :-p
I seem to have gone into hiding since I got my 50 shades of grey book by E L JAMES
I am like a woman obsessed, unravelling myself into the first of the trilogy.
I had heard a few mentions of the book but when my niece said she was getting it I decided to get one too so we could embark on a mini book club.By the way seen as my siblings are quite a bit older than me my niece is 21 just in case you were some what confused.
I threw myself into it and I was HOOKED a couple of chapters in.Mr scrimp said he has never had so much peace, something which he very rarely receives off me.
From the things I had heard of this book I thought I'd be shocked by some of the revelations but to be quite frank I found myself drifting into fantasy land and found it really seductive. Not that me and mr scrimp has ever wanted to cuff each other to the ceiling and spank each other with a paddle or anything :-o
But you get entwined in her deep feelings for this man that clearly has some demons,Hey whatever floats your boat but I have to say I would without a doubt take a spanking off mr scrimp for a new laptop, blackberry and a car.
The main characters are christian grey & ana steele or anastasia as mr grey calls her seductively
Ana is a reserved timid girl until she meets mr grey who is a powerful business man who has a jekyl & hyde personality keeps ana on her toes and brings her out of her shell. She is besotted and eventually he is smitten too, because he has never met a girl like her.
I think I became more hooked by this book as their relationship really reminds me of me and mr scrimp, again I am not a lover of nipple clamps but I completely relate to ana falling in love with a man she does not know much about, there is just something about him.Ana reveals her love for mr grey thus ending their relationship and this scenario is exactly how mine and mr scrimps relationship panned out in the early days.Yes shock horror...
But after time apart mr scrimp realised he was in fact in love with me,reuniting our relationship allowing me to finally really know him and this is how ana and christian are...So far
I am now on the second book which I actually nabbed today,The second book 'darker' was like rocking horse shit to get hold of.I think this is because the first book 'of grey' was so fantabulously amazeballs that desperate housewives through out the country went in search for the book that ended on us needing more.I was lost for a couple of days, curling up with my book and a cup of costa...Bliss
I searched for darker for 2 days and I was getting more fed up,I headed into waterstones and found the last copy,I actually thrust the book into the air and did a little dance..No shittin ladies, this actually happened.I have no regrets or shame,It was called for.
Running to the till I overhead two eager ladies asking for the book to which the assistant replied I am sorry we are sold out and will have to order you a copy. The look on her face was like someone had pissed on her kids at christmas.I have to admit I felt smug inside...
Well I will end my post here as I am already getting with  drawl symptoms
Have you read the amazing 50 shades trilogy by the genious of a author E L james found here
If not then is this modern day romance/kinkyporn something you would indulge in? Come ladies dont be a prude..
Much love
Mrs scrimp x x

Outfit post.First of many!!

Hey ladies,I cant believe I have never actually done a outfit post?!!
What was I thinking? Especially with the amount of clothes I have.I must confess I am somewhat of a hoarder,I know what your thinking....Really mrs scrimp a hoarder? The lady who posts about her huge hauls? Well let me tell you my clothes get good use and if I am not shopping in charity shops I raid my sisters wardrobe and occasionally  my mums which is even better because that means its FREEEEEE!  We all love freebies so basically my excuse for being a complete fashion wh*re is that it does not cost the earth
Well here is my first outfit post and I hope you like because I love!! I have had my eye on this dress for a while and while the sale closet was bare on collectif with the dresses being so fabulous and fairly priced they shot off the rails no doubt!
But all is not lost,I found a seller on ebay who stocks collectif clothing found here The dress I had my  eye on started at £19.99 but buy it now price was £40,I really wanted it but I just couldn't be so frivolous with my cash without trying to bid.
So as per usual I sat there, eager coffee in hand, heart racing, talking fast but not paying attention to whatever anyone is saying to me during this 5 minute window of countdown time!
I always wait till the last 20 seconds, occasionally this has failed me when I have been convinced said item its mine but some other ebay loon much like myself swoops in! Fair play so now I have to hold out till that right moment
Yes thats right bloggers my name is brooke and I am addicted to ebay! Another time and another post for that but that being said I know when to stop
Enough of my ramblings, you might already of guessed I won!! first bid and I was over the moon when I arrived.
Mr scrimp was too, queue his jaw dropping and the odd cheeky bum slap,I have had lots of eyes on me too And I was pretty sure my knickers were not tucked in my dress.
Or maybe they wondered why someone was dollied up in asda?? All dressed up and nowhere to go is most certainly the case here.
Well here she is,what do you think? Also show casing my new fringe, btw I am aware I am almost blending in with the wall,if I had pink hair it would be like a game of where's wolly!!
Its the end of the day just in case you was wondered if we actually owned a iron, hence the crinkles :-/

New wedges via scope charity shop for £3.99 :) Ignore my vile toes!

Hope your all enjoying the start to your weekend,Im off to eat my curry with the other half then upload lots of items on ebay to take advantage of the free insertion fees this weekend ;-)

Recent thrifty finds from the shops

Recently I headed out with my mum to superdrug,I needed a hairdye.Priced at £7 for one or £10 for three it was a no brainer so I got two and my mum got one and we split the difference.
But on our way out my mum squeeled with delight at tights in the bargain basket for £10p a pair!! So I got 5 pairs and my mum got 4.
Mr scrimp came home last week feeling very pleased with himself,He headed to b&m bargains and when he got to the till the assistant said would you like this for 20p as its the last one?!
I have noticed his smile gets him everywhere but am I willing to pimp out my hubbys smile for discount stuff......
OF COURSE :)
Nice big jug for hot summer days complete with glasses reduced from £3.99 to 20p! score!!!
I strolled past shoe market and thought id pop in,not sure why because some of the shoes can be a bit over priced for what they are but I spotted these gorgeous polkadot pumps reduced from £7.99 to £2.99
And even though I have my shoes stored in a 80litre tub and about 20 pairs still dont fit in I couldnt resist,I am a shoe addict.
Lush or what? Have you found any recent bargains?

im blue dabba dee dabba diiii

This song randomly popped into my head after trying to describe the way I am feeling lately.Booo dont you just hate it when you have that dark cloud looming over you.
Its dragging me down more because I have no motivation what so ever, which also explains the lack of posts!
Lack of gym effort, doing more things with the kids just everything. This is not like me and I dont like it because I would like my happy soul back,if anyone finds it can you please send it in a vintage envelope addressed to moi?!

On the plus side mr scrimp made me a three course meal today, this is a big shocker because he never cooks for me!! He burns pans all the time and so the cooking just gets left to me but it was nice to be wined and dined complete with candles.

We had a red onion and cheese ciabiatta for starters, sausage and bean casserole for main and a giant sunday for desert sprinkled with my favourite sweeties (mini jelly babies) The big ones are minging they have to be the mini green and purple ones yum yum.I am a lucky lady
Hopefully I will be back to my normal self soon and if anyone can speed up this process it would be very much appreciated.Hope you have all had a great weekend xxx

My secret sister is amazeballs!! :)

Hey ladies, after a morning out with my mum and watching the little one pick flowers and play with worms :-/
I headed home to see mr scrimp had decorated the living room, aahhh I love it but more on this another time.
My secret sister package arrived :-) I was excited and just the pick me up I needed.
She had wrapped the outside too in shiny silver wrapping paper, cue my excited face trying to open it.The scissors come out because I could'nt contain my excitement.I have the same problem at christmas and birthdays etc... Even worse when I buy for someone else because I cant keep a secret and have to tell them what it is!
shiny shiny!! I am a magpie
Once I was through the paper I revealed my box complete with polkadot wrapping paper,my fave! I have the same roll.
I opened it and lots of confetti come out,Which was beautiful as Its our wedding In 12 weeks time!! :)
She had also wrote a little letter which was lovely.
And here is what's in my sweet package
I couldn't fit on the apron what she also gave me.Awww im so chuffed with what I have
my favourite chocolate, hot chocolate, cross stitch,a candle, face mask, home made soap which smells lovely, more confetti, sweeties for the kids (how thoughtful),a magnet (I love the keep calm stuff and I have been wanting more magnets, some bath salts which smell lush! a card to only open on our wedding day,and socks (the socks made me giggle because apparently I didn't own socks when we moved in according to mr scrimp.Whats actually happened is he has claimed all my socks and so its a long running joke, well HA I will have the last laugh because they are girly and only for my tootsies :-p
So this evening I will be soaking in the bath with a hot chocolate eating chocolate, with the bath salts in,testing out my new soap all by candle light.aahhhh bliss
Thank you so much lisa at http://nevertooldtolearnfromyourmistakes.blogspot.co.uk/!! All I would like to know is if you can trade your biological sister for a secret one?

my poor mum,apologies bloggers

A few of you wondered why I have been so quiet of late.Well after getting over jet lag and tackling a mountain of washing I have just been trying to get back to the norm.Cooking, tidying, charity shopping etc...
Heading shopping this morn with my bezzy mate I had a call off my brother to say my mums partner had sadly passed away. Not going into too much detail but my heart pours out for my mum.
How awful to have lost her partner after 5 years together.Truth be told he started drinking 10yrs ago after his marriage ended.Hardly a big one either,You would never see him trashed so to speak.
But his liver has sadly failed and he passed away this morning after a horrendous detox.
Now you may not have sympathy as its self inflicted but Im sure we have all been partial to one to many drinks blissfully unaware of the damage casual drinking can do.He was a pleasant man, full of tall tales of past days, always happy and he made my mum happy.
Im going to keep it short for today as I have lots to do,just thought Id let my followers know I have not deserted you
Hope all is well,love

Were back from our jollys!!

Hola!! Aaaahhh we had a fabulous time but how I have missed blogger and charity shops
We got back to our humble abode about 3am,I so miss the weather but it was nice to climb into our memory foam bed.....HEAVEN!
Well where do I start,The weather was beautiful and so is the country. It was so clean and the locals were friendly. The hotel was spectacular and so was the food hence the reason why my clothes are now tighter. But it was all inc so I thought it would be rude not to sample all the food and tea and cakes and numerous ice cream throughout the day.
The kids loved it,The entertainers couldn't have done enough.Starting work at 8am and not finishing till 11pm working in the kids club, praticing routines for adult entertainment at night they really worked for their money!
We could see the volcanos from our hotel, the view is beautiful and it was strange to see them. The locals grow grape vines in the volcanic rock!
We went to the beach, went go karting, ventured to the market, the town, the zoo and the rest of the time we vegged out.
Well for now I will keep it short and sweet so I can eagerly read all the blogs I have missed all week and tuck into and chinese with the mr ;)
Tell me everyone what have I missed?? x x

I will be thinking of you all when I am sipping on a strawberry daiquiri on the beach sunning both sets of cheeks aaahhhhhh!
I am actually going to miss my little blogging buddies and catching up on what everyone has been upto.
So please do fill me in on what I have missed over the past week or so I am a nosy cow ;)

thrifting,disbelief,sadness & happiness :-/

Hello there,if anyone is actually reading and I am not blogging into the depths of blogosphere?
Well sunday I decided to head to a boot sale trying to find bargains instead of selling them, much more relaxing and enjoyable :) here's what I found
 beautiful earrings and brooch
 fab 50s/60s atomic mag rack
This sexy little beauty is going straight on my wall £5
 pastel blue teapot :) 75p
 count your blessings plaque 60p
lush gravy boat and dish 50p
The magazine rack is on ebay at the moment and I am unsure whether to part with the jewellery?
Well anyway sorry for the lack of blogging,I am so busy lately hunting for stock for ebay while trying to be the best mum and housewife I can be.And trying to fit in a bit of sleep is also nice :)
Well just as I was about to leave earlier to pick my eldest up from school I wondered where the littlest pram was??! Mind on overload going frantic I felt a wave of sadness wash over me and wonder whether mr scrimp could be so dim at times.Turns out yes!
He had sold his car at the weekend to a nice chap in shropshire and mr scrimp had only left the pram in the boot!
Now I might be a scrimper but zoe jane is our youngest and mr scrimps first and only child so she does get spoiled I suppose. As well as my eldest but I can see my scrimpy genes in her lol
Well zoe has a juicy couture pram not a cheap pram! Not what I really wanted,I really wanted her to have a silvercross balmoral coachbuilt pram but she got her princess chariot as mr scrimp calls it.
Finally finding the guys number we gave him a call and luckilly he has been very polite and arranged for us to come and collect it.It quite easilly could of turned out differently,He could of told us to swivel and we wouldnt have a leg to stand on!
Note to self, always ask mr scrimp if he has forgotten anything, ask if he needs to toilet etc....
But to make up for the slight lousy day he got me a prezzy
BEHOLD.... MY PERSONALISED COSTA MUG!!! I LOVE IT
How was your weekend?  has your other half done anything dim lately? :-p x x

Tales from the bootsale, lots of selling & a little buying ;)

Well helloooooo there! This weekend was a little different,I usually head to the car boot as a buyer but I had lots of stuff going unused and one girls junk is another's treasure hey?
My brother picked me up at half 5 while mr scrimp and our youngest zoe had a lie in.
Rolling up everywhere was packed we headed to the office but they couldn't find our booking for my table, the thought of taking it all back home dreaded me but luckily after about 15mins he found it,phew!
Setting up at the front of the market back to back with two lovely ladies,A angry seller appeared claiming I had her table! Accusing me of stealing her spot and saying I had not booked it!
I can be reserved but when she continued to make untrue accusations I gave her a gob full back.
I do not and will not tolerate bullies, the lovely ladies decided to help me out but I really stood my ground.I am not really a morning person, especially if someone angers me from my sleepy state.
Needless to say said goon had got the wrong spot, but did I get a apology? Did I balls!
Rant over! Stuff was flying off my table,I was really pleased and felt a sense of achievement :)
But I was ready for the daydreaming hagglers,These are the type that are basically hoping you will give it them for free. For example I said I wanted 50p for a brand new bag,and the guy actually said I will give you 45p! Come on seriously?
After a heated start to the day and biting my tongue at certain times and even catching a foreign thief stealing off my stall I was still pleased I went....honest
After my £16 stall fee I headed home with £60 odd quid richer,Happy days :)
But of course I popped by my two favourite stalls,There really is some lovely sellers on there. Its nice to have a chin wag.
And here's what snook home with me
 3 puppets for our girls,50p
 fab 60,70s light shade £1
7 rolls of unused wallpaper from the 70s,£1 for the lot! I bought 3 but they give me the extra 4
 two kitsch deer £1
I couldnt help but think of the lovely catherine at http://www.ladyliquorvtg.com/ as she had found the same pegs weeks ago,I dont want to open them they are so cute £1
 Gorgeous glass shade 25p!!
Lush orange tupperware tub 50p

Now I said I would be back with a post to show you what mr scrimp found the other night but I am still getting round to prettifying it,There is not enough hours in the day lately.
Hope you all had a lovely weekend,Did you find anything? x x

No wedding snobbery here!

Hello fellow bloggers I thought id share a bit of my wedding with you
As a little girl I pictured marrying my prince and living in a big castle but reality hits and I have met my prince only he rolled up in his white focus instead of a white horse ;)
Now when I picture my wedding I didnt care how where or when I just know I have met my soul mate and I would marry him anywhere, would anyone like a sick bucket before I carry on? no? ok then....
Well originally we was going to go gretna green but after hotels food travelling etc it would still cost a bomb so we are getting married in bolton, granted the church is a whopping £600 and odd but this church is beautiful

Worth its weight in gold? me thinks so :) Plus regristrar offices wouldnt fit in our familys combined,I along have 10 siblings,47 nieces and nephews,I am a great aunty 6 times over and dont even get me started on my aunts uncles and cousins and I do have to invite mr scrimps side :-P And the parish church fits in hundreds so its perfect.
We have scrimped where we can on money though and not luxury. My wedding bouquet was going to cost about £80 for a simple one but the lovely old dear showed me how to make mine on which I do a tutorial on.My mother in law made mine though, artificial but they are beautiful and I can save them

The top bouquet is mine, the middle is for my bridesmaids and the baskets are for my flower girls

She also made our invites,I love them.My MIL turns her hand at anything!

The flower girls dresses were £11 each!! and the suits £13 each,my mother in law found a wholesalers of kids clothes and they was there, how beautiful and what a steal!!
My wedding shoes for £1 off the carboot last sunday,A lot of people disapproved but I dont give a shit because I think they are beautiful and no one will see my feet under my dress! I bought my dress about 10 months ago but I cant show you a pic because its at my inlaws other wise I would wear it every day!
I bought it for £150 the bridal shop was falling down upstairs and so the owner said you can take any dress for £200 but I haggled a little ;) this gown had a tag for £600! I told her it had made my day and she said at least one of us is happy! Ouch!
But I have since found my dream 50s dress for £200 so I would really like them both,Plus two dresses for £350 I know brides who spend triple that on one dress...FOOLS!
And heres my wedding ring
It cost me £6!! from a vintage style agency in stockport, now lots of people turned their noses up at this but I politely told them to piss off and I would wear a haribo as a wedding ring but on second thoughts I would probably eat it before we leave the church!
Well I hope you enjoyed my post I will continue to top it up with more things we have scrimped on but I think I best leave it here as its turning into a book!!
OOoohhh keep an eye out for my next post on what mr scrimp found .... x
